Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
In a world that's complicated enough, the affordably priced PermaFocus binos are a relief for simple, fixed-focus, long-distance viewing. The wider field-of-view makes them ideal for spectator sports, distant wildlife observation or winter use with gloves. Thanks to quality fully-coated optics the action is bright and crisp and the ergonomic rubber housing means you won't drop them - even with gloves on.PRODUCT FEATURES: Fully coated optics for superior light transmission and brightness; Unique "Focus-Free" feature stays in focus at most viewing distances; Non-slip rubber armor absorbs shock while providing a firm grip.

5 out of 5 stars Pleased with product   July 11, 2001

I really like the perma-focus attribute of this product. We use it for nature watching while hiking and vacationing. It's good to be able to pass the binoculars back and forth to others without losing the subject while adjusting the focus each time. Only drawback is the difficulty in holding binoculars steady when viewing due to magnification. Best binoculars we've had.

2 out of 5 stars Perma Focus doesn't hold up to expectations   May 24, 2001

It already got a pair of 7x21 compact binoculars and wanted these ones for bird watching. Unfortunately these ones don't give a sharp image, not even at greater distance to the object. Because they are "Perma" focus there is no way of focusing them to closer objects, let's say 30 feet away. In general, I would not recommend them.

4 out of 5 stars All Aorund Good Glasses   July 31, 2008

Although these binoculars are not at thier best in close, the long range view more than adequately makes up for any shortcomings. For objects at a distance, I can think of no other binocular that has as crisp an image, or as wide a field of view. Also, they are a pleasure to pick up and have an instant view without the delay in having to focus them. The rugged, rubber encased, no slip frame are one of the most "ergonomically correct" pair of glasses that I have ever used.

The only downside I see to these is the clarity of objects at a significantly closer range. They do tend to be slightly off focus. However, if I were to be looking at objects at a much closer distance, I would not need to use these. Also, the carrying case is more than functional but, leaves a bit to be desired.

I use these binoculars for both land and especially water searches, and can think of no other which is as well made and economically priced. The auto focus feature is a major asset when having to pick up the glasses and sight in on a moment's notice.

If you are looking for a value priced, yet extremely well constructed and built pair of binoculars, these may very well be the pair for you.

No matter what you look at, it's in focus and is crystal clear. All my friends are absolutely amazed with the set.
