The Canon LA-DC58K Adapter for the G10 is a waste of money. The thing rattles due to improper fit when mounted, it's a two-piece(who knows why) plactic adapter that when put to it's designed use, attaching a 58mm filter, vinettes severly at standard zoom range. Canon is,in my opinion, falling behind other manufactures in quality, and now appearently, in design engineeering as well. Too bad.

Made of cheap plastic, this is actually a TWO-PIECE affair with a 57mm (odd-size) thread in the middle.All the plastic adapters I have owned stripped, cross-threaded or got loose threaded in no time, Canon has doubled your chances by making it two pieces that screw together.The worst part is that when they do eventually cross-thread, your heart stops for a second as you check the camera body to make sure it did not cross-thread.You can buy a metal alternative at [...].
