This is a great little camera. It didn't cost much and is perfect for anyone not doing any pro work (and even for some that do). The resolution is much better than a cellphone, it has a flash with options, many playful effects, and can do stills or video. It takes memory cards so you can take a limitless amount of photos or footage. The camera comes with a little drawstring velvet like bag, but you might want to buy something a little more protecting to carry it around in.
Some people see the 5 megapixel label and will pass this over. When I wanted a new digital camera that took photos that were more interwebz worthy than my phone I did a little research and found out that, unless you are making photo prints larger than 6feet by 6feet, you will probably never even need a full 5 megapixels and anything higher is just a waste. There are studies all over the net about this and you can probably find them by doing a search for, "what are megapixels about?" or something similar.
Great starter camera, kids' camera, family vacation/holiday camera, or every day interwebz picture-taking/video-capturing camera and for a very affordable price.
