Kodak may have been late to the digital bandwagon, but they have in recent years stepped up the quality significantly. This digital frame has plenty of memory for photos at "its" resolution. Before you look at the fact it only has a small amount of memory. The screen is small enough so that a 480x234 image looks fine. A way to get more on the frame is to purchase a really large SD Memory card and bump up the amount of storage available.

Not a bad way to bring old technology (picture frame) up to today!
It is VERY easy to set up and if you are going to give this as a gift for a not-so tech savvy person you can rest assured it is very simple to use. What a better way to send an awesome gift this year.

This Kodak EasyShare digital frame is a generation beyond the earlier models. With its touch border that allows the user to set up a slide show from a variety of options, the interface is friendly for even someone not entirely comfortable with new technology.

The unit comes with a black frame and two colored mattes (burgundy and silver) to dress up the look. Photos can be introduced either through a USB device or a memory card. Old digital frames used to have individual slots for the different kinds of memory cards, but the EasyShare has a single one that accommodates SD, XD, MMC, and MS cards. The included CD with EasyShare software is for Windows only; however, Mac software is available on the Kodak site. The best part of this frame is that you don't need the software to use it right out of the box. Simply stick in a memory device, turn it on, and the frame begins displaying. The only features this frame is missing that some more advanced models have are wireless connectivity and MP3 playback.

The EasyShare can be oriented for horizontal or vertical use. Because the device "letterboxes" photos not laid out in the same manner as the frame, the best look comes from a selection of photographs taken in the same manner -- for example, all horizontal photos for the horizontal display option. Choose from two different angles for table top display or mount it on the wall (hanging hardware not included); the white power cord is meant to be unobtrusive against a light background.

For a special gift, load up a memory card or USB device with family pictures and insert it in the frame before wrapping. We did this a couple of years ago with a different model for our parents, and they spent a lot of time watching and reminiscing within minutes of opening the gift.

This very sleek looking picture frame displays your favorites photos (hundreds of them) in any way you desire, simply by using the `controls on the frame' Quick Touch Border. This allows for super simple operation with a touch or slide of your finger, with no screen fingerprints or smudges. The touch panel features yellow lights that illuminate to tell you exactly where to touch. You can set your frame vertically or horizontally. Some photos that do not fit the typical ratio are displayed in 'letterbox' style.

With the enclosed software, you can easily create multimedia slide shows from your desktop and easily transfer them to your Memory card/Stick to install into your frame. Browse and edit your family or vacation photos and easily drag-and-drop pictures for slide shows. The number of photos on your Kodak Easycare frame is limited only by the size of your memory card or memory stick (not included). With an 8 GB memory card/stick, you can store over 1,600 high quality photos (there are two memory card slots). The bright 7" monitor brings out the colors and crispness of your photos in a way that is far more vibrant than simple printed photos.

You're in control and it can be a mesmerizing experience. Whether at home or in the office, this is your life on display! Great invention - great gift!
