Product Description
The Word is made fresh by the irrepressible Mother Angelica as she personally escorts you through the Scriptures, unearthing lessons for daily living--the perfect companion to the New York Times bestselling Mother Angelica's Little Book of Life Lessons and Everyday Spirituality.
The founder of the world's largest religious media empire shares her beloved wit and down-to-earth spirituality in MOTHER ANGELICA'S PRIVATE AND PITHY LESSONS FROM THE SCRIPTURES. Editor Raymond Arroyo draws on hundreds of never-before-released private lessons to present the renowned nun's definitive take on the Good Book. Angelica provides readers with guided meditations, probing personal questions, and reveals an often-overlooked practical spirituality. She doesn't just explain the stories, she relates them to our daily lives, helping even those who've never opened the Bible experience its power and life-altering lessons. The apostles Paul ("the little shrimp"), Peter ("that great bungler") and all the characters of the Scriptures are suddenly human again, complete with their foibles and triumphs. Here is the Greatest Story, newly told as only Mother Angelica can. The Bible and you will never be the same. A portion of the royalties from this book goes to support the work of Our Lady of the Angels Monastery

This book is great...I will reread it again. It is written like she talks on her TV show, EWTN, the chapters are quick, easy reading, and makes me stop and meditate. Thoroughly enjoyable book

Mother Angela Private nd Pithy Lessons From Scripture November 16, 2008 Antoinette Rose (Yreka, CA USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Mother Angelica is her usual straight to the point commentator on the scripture. She makes it fun learning about scripture and brings it down to a practicable level. This is a book that makes learning about scripture fun, brings a fresh point of few to scripture, and gives you valuable information about interpretation of scripture.
Like a Spiritual Grandmother November 25, 2008 Elizabeth A. Amer (Riverside, Ca) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
For those days when nothing goes right or when everything goes right Mother Angelica is there to gently nudge you on your journey to Christ. This book makes you place yourself in the moment with God from the safety of your grandmother's knee making the spiritual lessons feel like coming home. I found myself shaking my head in amazement at how much Mother sees in the Scriptures and how blind I have been ... until now. This book has helped me view my human imperfections from a new point of view and has allowed me to see that this is exactly the same point of view the Saints had of their own failings and misgivings. Yes, the Apostles and other Saints really were human. And now I have a clearer understanding of the struggles they felt in their own spiritual journies even as they walked alongside Jesus. Thank you Mother Angelica and God Bless you!
Just Love this Book November 3, 2008 Frank Quint (St. Clair Beach, Ontario Canada) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Thank-you Raymond for putting this priceless advice in book form. Mother's wisdom comes shining through her honest and easy to comprehend nuggets of faith. I would be so bold as to say that her clarity helps to further inspire the already 'inspired' word. Thank-you Raymond and Mother Angelica for the advice!
