Product Description WHO Classification of Tumours of Haematopoietic and Lymphoid Tissue is the third volume in the new WHO series on histological and genetic typing of human tumors. This authoritative, concise reference book covers the entire range of leukaemias and lymphomas. It provides an international standard for oncologists and pathologists and will serve as an indispensable guide for use in the design of studies monitoring response to therapy and clinical outcome. Diagnostic criteria, pathological features, and associated genetic alterations are described in a strictly disease-oriented manner. Sections on all recognized neoplasms and their variants include new ICD-O codes, incidence, age and sex distribution, location, clinical signs and symptoms, pathology, genetics, and predictive factors.
The book, prepared by 130 authors from 22 countries, contains more than 1,000 color photographs, numerous magnetic resonance and ultrasound images, CT scans, charts, and 2,500 references.
This book is in the series commonly referred to as the "Blue Book" series.

Horrendous delivery time from amazon.com November 19, 2008 Boopie (USA) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
The WHO classification - is what it is, the definitive text. What I am annoyed about is that my peers who ordered this book through the actual WHO website, have received their WHO books a month before me, while I have still been standing on one foot waiting for my prerelease order on Nov 19 2008. (Originally this was to have come out Sept 1.) When I ordered the older version of this text two years ago via the WHO website I had to wait no less then 8 weeks. That is why I chose amazon.com this time. I would recommend ordering from the WHO website for this, my colleagues have their copies long before me this time. this is important especially if one needs this for an upcoming rotation.
?Why is the listed price here $588US when it can be bought from the WHO bookstore for $122 US December 13, 2008 Ashley Ng (Melbourne, Australia) I am surprised that the listed price for this is [...] when it can be bought from the WHO bookstore for [...] [...] Pays to do some shopping around!
