Product Description Updated fully for 2009, the 23rd Edition of the Tarascon Pocket Pharmacopoeia Classic Shirt-Pocket Edition continues the high-quality tradition of a convenient, organized, and concise pocket manual packed with vital drug information meticulously peer-reviewed by experts and clinicians of multiple specialties. It details typical drug dosing (both FDA approved and off-label uses), available trade and generic formulations, metabolism, safety in pregnancy, and lactation, relative drug pricing information, Canadian trade names, and an herbal & alternative therapies section. Multiple tables supplement the drug content, including opioid equivalency, emergency drug infusions, cardiac dysrhythmis protocols, pediatric drug dosing, and much more!

Not a veterinary reference. December 4, 2008 Working (working working) Mom (Washington, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is the regular human beloved pharmacopoeia. I ordered from here after looking at the pictures and surmising the "veterinary" label is a mistake, and I did receive the normal edition. I am an FP MD and have used these every day for years, since medstudenthood. Pocket version is best, better I think than Tarascon's other ancillary products. Epocrates for palmtops is also good, but I think this is still quicker, and easier to scribble a note in too. Med students and residents: get this now, before food, maybe before water, and certainly before sleeping.
Confusing listing! December 1, 2008 HorseyDoc (Albany, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm not sure why Amazon lists "(Library of Veterinary Practice)" in the title, as this seems to imply this is a veterinary resource...other than that, this book is as useful as ever, although the index has taken out the helpful letters to indicate bottom, middle or top of page where drug is located.
