If the 'levels', 'curves', and 'adjustment layers' were ever scary words to you, then they won't be if you read through this book. Many 'how-to' books and websites tend to exclude important comments such as "...ignore the fact that your image is covered with the selected texture." Comments like these are very reassuring and can make the difference in keeping some readers tuned in. I'm still learning from this book, and plan on purchasing the new edition sometime soon! It's inspiring and not canned at all. She doesn't teach you to just dial in numbers, but instead she focuses on the concepts so that you can then decide what numbers you need by yourself!
