Product Description The Sequel to the Beloved #1 New York Times Bestseller The Friday Night Knitting Club
The sequel to the number-one New York Times bestseller The Friday Night Knitting Club, KNIT TWO returns to Walker and Daughter, the Manhattan knitting store founded by Georgia Walker and her young daughter, Dakota. Dakota is now an eighteen-year-old freshman at NYU, running the little yarn shop part-time with help from the members of the Friday Night Knitting Club.
Drawn together by the sense of family the club has created, the knitters rely on one another as they struggle with new challenges: for Catherine, finding love after divorce; for Darwin, the hope for a family; for Lucie, being both a single mom and a caregiver for her elderly mother; and for seventysomething Anita, a proposal of marriage from her sweetheart, Marty, that provokes the objections of her grown children.
As the club s projects an afghan, baby booties, a wedding coat are pieced together, so is their understanding of the patterns underlying the stresses and joys of being mother, wife, daughter, and friend. Because it isn t the difficulty of the garment that makes you a great knitter: it s the care and attention you bring to the craft as well as how you adapt to surprises.

Yet Another Book Written for Julia Roberts November 27, 2008 Terpkat (Washington, D.C.) 6 out of 14 found this review helpful
No surprise here, the author who found such success with Friday Night Knitting Club brings back the same characters and locale for all those readers who couldnt get enough. In hopes of an improvement over her first book, I read this and still wonder why others embraced it so? This is one of those books where you get the impression the author hastily wrote it just to fill space and get her royalty checks. Those who DO knit will again find much of this a trite fantasy, even laughable. The audience for this series seems to be the romance novel reader, and I say, good for you, but this is not a book with any kind of depth or meaning. If you must read it, take it out of the library and save your money for some nice yarn.
end of the year reading joy! November 27, 2008 Tyler Hewson (Eugene, OR) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was so excited to find this sequel to Friday Night Knitting Club, which is one of my favorite reads of the past couple years. First off, I'm not a knitter, but you definitely don't have to be to enjoy Kate Jacobs and her books--if you're a friend, mother, wife, sister or daughter, these characters will speak to you. I bought this book the first day it went on sale and will probably buy at least one more copy to give as a Christmas present. This is definitely the type of book that gets you thinking about family, friendship and believing in yourself--perfect reading for this time of year.
quick and fun read December 1, 2008 Sharon A. Somers (ny) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
It took me a bit longer to get into Knit Two. I really missed Georgia Walker for a while. She was such a huge part of the first book. However, there are so many other interesting things happening to the other characters that I finally got over it and began to enjoy the story. My favorite character this time around was Georgia's friend Catherine. She definitely had the most issues to deal with. I really came to sympathize with her and I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen to her next. I also enjoyed the whole side story with Anita and trying to find her long lost loved one. Her story kept me entertained and really made me think a lot about forgiveness. While I didn't enjoy this one as much as first, the stories were still emotionally charged and thought provoking. It looks like their might be another sequel coming along. This series has some of my favorite characters in it so I really hope that there will be another book coming along soon! I would recommend this book in a heart beat! You don't have to read The Friday Night Knitting club first but, you should!
They are back! January 1, 2009 Tonya Russo (Goldendale WA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It isn't the same without Georgia, as some of our characters are still feeling the loss as well. Dakota is trying to find herself but she has her dad and everyone else telling her what to do. Lucie has a chance of a lifetime for her career, but her mother is getting older and more absentminded. Lucie's brothers think Lucie should put her life on the backburner a bit and help with Rosie. Catherine has it all, or does she? All of our favorite friends are back to share their lives, sorrows, happiness and tragedies. Kate has done it again, continuing on with their stories. You won't want to put it down!
The perfect holiday vacation read! December 3, 2008 birdbath (Brooklyn, NY) I loved The Friday Night Knitting Club, so I was very excited to find that Knit Two exudes the same warm familiarity. It's less a sequel than another visit with old friends.
