Product Description
MAGIC LANTERN GUIDES: NIKON D80, Simon Stafford, A Lark Photography Book Simon Stafford's photographs have been used widely in newspapers, books, calendars, and magazines. Completely self-taught, he has built up a wealth of experience over the past twenty years with both film and digital cameras. Throughout his photographic career he has used the Nikon system extensively, and is now the Technical Editor to the Nikon Owners' Club International's Nikon Owner magazine. The new, mid-priced Nikon D80 replaces the Nikon D70s/D70 which was the subject of the best-selling Magic Lantern Guide ever! This model features a 10 megapixelsensor, up-sized 2.5" LCD monitor, and 4.5 fps capability.

5 out of 5 stars Magic Lantern Guide is a great book.   December 25, 2008
Robert V. Dyer
I found this to be a great book with more information than the user manual. It is just the right size to carry in a camera bag or jacket pocket. Highly recommend it to anyone.

4 out of 5 stars Reference   October 25, 2008

A neat little reference book that is far superior to the camera manual. Comprehensive and explicit.

4 out of 5 stars Great read   September 21, 2008

This book is very easy reading, truly never judge a book by its cover, it looked really technical and difficult but it is simple and follows in logical order for getting to know the camera, great read!

5 out of 5 stars Get a Clue, It's a Guide Not the Nikon D80 Bible   September 20, 2008
nikon fan (Fresno, CA)
This is my 3rd Magic Lantern Guide By Simon Stafford, and as usual it is just what I expected. Consise, clear, and to the point, READ: the title of the book is Magic Lantern GUIDE, Guide, get it? It is not the comprehensive D80 Bible, it is a Guide. Please review a book for what it is, not what what it is not. The title alone should tell you what it is not, C'mon people get it together, giving the book 1 star because of the editing? Please give me a break, an give a break to those who come here for a review of the content of the book, not its grammer.

Conclusion, If you want something to supplement your owners manual, this book is great. If you are looking for a book that is a concise, deep delving book into the D80 find it elsewhere, this is not it. It was not meant to be. Another good D80 book is the D80 Digital Field Manual, by David Busch. The two of these together make for a great resource for the D80.

Get the Magic Lantern Guide, you will like it!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent !   September 6, 2008

Excellent resource for owners / users of Nikon D80. A lot to plough thru front to back, but very accessible for problem solving. Nikon D80 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera (Body only)
