5 out of 5 stars Great Book   March 24, 2009

Great full color book geared for beginners. If you plan on making the transition from a digital point and shoot, to a full fledged DSLR, this books takes this mystery out of all the buttons, switches and settings available on the Nikon D60 DSLR. Explains basic photographic theory as well in terms and words that are easy to understand. Highly recommended as the first book to break the ice on your new D60 DSLR.

5 out of 5 stars Excelent   February 12, 2010

I read this book right after Christmas and thought it was great. And, since I worte a scalding review of "Photoshop Elements 8 for Dummies" this morning, it seemed only fair to give some credit to the D60 book. You will enjoy the D60 book even if the Nikon is not your first DSLR and you already know the basics. Oh, the D60 book covers the basics in a clear concise way but it moves on to things that are specific to this camera. The author moves you through the book in a logical thoughtful way so you will not get confused. You will actually want to read the entire book and, as a result, you might think twice about simply shooting everything in 'automatic' mode. After completing the book, you will be smarter - and that's supposed to be the whole idea!

5 out of 5 stars Smart Dummy Now.   September 17, 2009

Thanks to this book i see what an asset it will be in learning about my new camera i've always wanted, just reading a few pages and viewing the pictures, it will make this camera "funner" to use now that i understand what i need to do for the situation im in to make a better picture instead of just turning knobs and getting fustrated in what i think i know. What a great study guide to allow anyone to sit down with their camera and be able to do a hands on with the book and be amazed at the results there of. Enjoy!!!

This is a great companion to all Nikon D60 owners. It covers every accessory from external flashes, and lenses to filters, and diffusers. The photo pictures are a great tool to improve my photographs and finally take the big leap from Auto to Manual mode.

This book was a big help in getting to know my first SLR camera. It's as simple as can be for content that's more complex. The tips included in the book are a bonus.
