This is a fantastic deal. The camera arrived ahead of when it was supposed to, and I am very pleased with the quality of the photos I am now taking. I was also impressed with the quality and amount of accessories that came with the camera. If you are looking to get a digital slr camera this is the way to go.

This is my first SLR camera, so please understand this is not meant to be an in-depth review.
I got this for our family shortly after my wife and I returned home w/ our adopted 18 month-old son, who seems to always move a bit too fast for our point-and-shoot camera to catch the best moments.
This pictures are great! So far, I've only been using in Auto modes (as I said, I'm new DSLRs and this level of adjustability) and have been taking exclusively in-door pics with the 18-55mm lens and I can't wait to explore this thing's capabilities as I become more comfortable with it. The images have been great up-close, far away, with good natural daylight or all artificial light. The limiting factor thus far has certainly been my lack of experience.
Extra battery is not Nikon branded battery, but so far it seems to take plenty of pictures w/ flash before it needs to be replaced.
Camera case is quite large, as it's meant to hold camera and a couple of lenses.
Love the 16GB card....over 2k pictures at full resolution!

I have had my hands on a Canon EOS and a Nikon D100 and by far the D100 was more intuitive. The D60 is there...just reasonable on price too. The D60, D40 and, I think, the D80 have all had the AutoFocus motor removed from the body, so lenses are a little more expensive because motor was placed in them. NOT ALL AUTOFOCUS LENSES ARE COMPATIBLE. It must be made specifically for the D60 (buyer beware), but if you get this kit, who needs additional lenses?
The extra battery that comes with the kit will void the warranty (if you read the fine print).
great pictures...incredible resolution...perfect if you want to do a little bit more than point and shoot...but capable of that just the same.
