Beware December 25, 2008 V. Kebeli (Nebraska, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I got this lens from Amazon, great service and delivery as usual. However, this lens is far fetch from being a serious (or even amateur) wide angle lens. Images are not sharp, distortion, CA, contrast is very poor. I tested and used the lens on Nikon D90 with all apertures (f/3.5...22), all ISO range (100-3200), from 10mm to 24mm, inside- outside, hand held & tripod, with strobe &speed light-SB600, sunny day, cloudy day, landscape and interiors... I did not test this scientifically, but I could not even get a high IQ image. This lens is also built in China, not Japan. I also have the new Tamron 18-270mm (replaced my 18-55 & 55-200 Nikon set), and it is fantastic all-in-one zoom. Much better than Sigma 18-200 OS HSM, and more versatile and sharper than Nikon 18-200 VR. Way better than this wide angle.I guess I will wait for Nikon's 9mm WA or get Tokina 11-16 f2.8. All my other lenses are Nikon (50mm f1.8, 70-200mm f2.8VR). This is terrible, and basically conforms to the test conducted by others. If you get a Japanese copy, it might be a different story, I would suggest going somewhere else. [...]
